ABOUT ME
Since an early age I was curious and interested in the human behavior and personal relationships. Moreover, I had a tendency to help people if they needed so and that was rewarding for me. I discovered that in a natural way I was good at listening to other people and also empathizing with them. The idea of being able to work professionally helping others gained strength over time and this led me to study Psychology at university.
The field of psychology is very broad as it covers many types of problems; in addition, there are a great variety of theoretical models since its origins. For this reason, I think it is important to point out that whereas working I use the Cognitive-Behavioral Model as a fundamental axis. It is the psychological orientation with the best guarantees and with the most scientific support at an international level. It is focused on problem solving, it offers an outline, a structure from which to understand what happens to you and guide the psychological treatment for it. Furthermore, it focuses on the present and takes into account the triple response system (Emotion-Thought-Behavior) to understand and explain the behaviors that generate psychological discomfort to the person.
Together, patient and psychologist will define the therapeutic process through the formulation of the therapy objectives, which will constitute the goals to be achieved. On the one hand, patients have to take an active role in therapy if they want it to work. On the other hand, psychologist will assume, among others, functions of informer and educator and will propose new paths that patients will go through at their own pace with a continuous supervision.
In general, psychological therapy involves stopping doing what leads to problems and learning alternative and new ways to achieve goals. Moreover, therapy must be understood as something temporary. It has its beginning and its end. In my opinion, time and health are two of the most valuable things in life and therefore, I greatly value the time spent in the consulting room because apart from the patient’s effort coming to the clinic, my own self-demand leads me to focus fully in the person in order to get the most of the appointment. As it is said, haste makes waste, not in psychology either, but people who go to psychological therapy have been having a bad time for a long time and need relief and solutions as soon as possible. Each individual is a world and is unique. In the same way, each case is different, although it may share common aspects with others.
It is your decision. Everyday more and more people demand psychological help and see its benefits. I do not know if I will meet you, what I know is that if I do, I will put all my knowledge, experience and commitment to help you.
